Furniture production increases in Armenia

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 25, ARMENPRESS: The Republic of Armenia reduced the import of furniture and increased the export. In 2013, in comparison with 2012, Armenia reduced the volumes of the imported furniture and its parts by 19,7% making it 57,000 pieces and increased the volumes of the export by 440% or 5,4 times making it 8,1 thousand pieces. According to the data provided by the State Revenue Committee of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, in 2013 the total customs value of the imported furniture and its parts exceeded $19 million and that of the exported one - $466,000.
Armenpress reports that in 2013 the major part of the furniture exported from our Republic was purchased by the United Kingdom (5,7 thousand pieces) and Georgia (1,5 thousand pieces). In 2013 furniture was imported to Armenia mainly from China (32,5 thousand pieces), Paraguay (5,5 thousand pieces), Turkey (4,7 thousand pieces), Italy (3,7 thousand pieces), and other countries. In 2013 furniture for more than 3,2 billion drams was produced in Armenia, which exceeded the indicator of 2012 by 4,2%.
