Armenia, UNECE discuss cooperation in market surveillance

Head of Armenia’s Market Surveillance Inspection Agency Armen Kotolyan and Lance Thompson, Head of the Regulatory Cooperation Unit and Secretary to the Working Party on Regulatory Cooperation and Standardization Policies (WP.6) at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), discussed digitalization, the use of artificial intelligence in market surveillance, and opportunities for further cooperation.

The Market Surveillance Inspection Agency said in a statement that the meeting also addressed cooperation planned under the “Gender Mainstreaming in Quality Infrastructure” extrabudgetary program.

Thompson praised the Inspection Agency’s involvement in the work of UNECE WP.6’s Risk Management and Market Surveillance (RAMS) group.

The meeting was followed by a capacity-building training session.
