Armenian chess player wins in Gibraltar Tournament final round

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 7, ARMENPRESS: The member of the Armenian national chess men’s team Sergey Movsisyantook the 18th place in the Gibraltar Tournament. In the last 10th round the opponent of Sergey Movsisyan was Debashis Das. The Armenian chess player played with whites and did not give the opponent a single chance to win. Krikor-Sevag Mkhitaryan, representing Brazil, lost to Thomas Henrichs in the last round and Armen Proudian, also representing Brazil, won Aman Hambleton.

The winner of the Tournament became Vasily Ivanchuk, scoring 8 points out of 10 possible.

The Grand Masters Sergey Movsisyan, Krikor-Sevag Mkhitaryan, as well as Armen Proudian and Yerazik Khachaturian were participating in the traditional great open being held from January 28 till February 5, 2014 in Gibraltar.
