Tigran Sargsyan points out 2013 achievements

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 27, ARMENPRESS. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan considers one of the most indexes registered this year the growth of 7.1 percent in industry, which according to him, is rather hopeful. “The second important achievement in 2013 is 6.7 per cent growth in agriculture. We have growth in animal breeding, seed-farming. If we gathered 26 centner harvest of corn from one hectare in 2012, the harvest of one hectare amounted to 30 centner in 2013. This year we have been able to import modern seeds,” Tigran Sargsyan said.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia considered the strengthening of cooperation with the private sector as success. “We singed new agreements. Grounds are built for new investments in shoes making,” he added.

Tigran Sargsyan regarded 12.5 percent growth in tourism hopeful too, highlighting the importance for the liberalization of air transportations. “We already record decrease in air transportation prices. Those trends will continue and deepen in 2014,” the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia stated.

According to him, the investments of GMP standards in pharmaceutical industry will give an opportunity to pharmaceutical companies to access new markets. “We are glad that three more companies have been willing to submit applications for receiving certificates correspondent to that international standard,” Tigran Sargsyan emphasized.
