YEREVAN, DECEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS. There is apparent economic activity in Karabakh this year, as it used to be last year. We’ll record economic growth of 9 percent in the Nagorno Karabakh Republic for 2013. This rate remains unchanged for already 9 years. The Prime Minister of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Ara Harutyunyan stated this in an interview with “Armenpress” News Agency and introduced the activities conducted in the Nagorno Karabakh Republic, the issues, which have not been solved yet, and new projects as well.
- Mr. Prime Minister, the entire funds raised at the course of the Hayastan All Armenian Fund’s Telethon will be used for the construction of the Vardenis-Martakert road. What problems will find their solution due to the construction of the road?
- The construction of the world is of a strategic, political, economical, and social importance. The road connecting the Northern part of Artsakh to Armenia is currently in a terrible condition and it is being frequently closed because of snow. And linking the Northern part of Karabakh with Armenia via the Goris-Stepanakert road is not right from the economic standpoint. Due to the construction of the road the link between Karvachar and Martakert will become stronger and new serious opportunities.
- What areas would You suggest to foreign businessmen, who want to make investments in Artsakh?
- There are a number of spheres. We have vast resources in agriculture, hydro-energy sphere, stocks, and construction, as well as the light industry. We also have vast opportunities for the agricultural goods reprocessing.
- What does attract tourists in Artsakh and what activities are conducted for the further development of tourism?
- First of all we are very kind towards the tourists. Karabakh’s hospitality always plays a significant role in the relations with tourists. We try to establish comfortable and beautiful relations with those, who visit our country. Our clear sky and fascinating nature also make Karabakh a more attractive place to visit.
