Football Federation of Armenia comments on news about team’s future manager

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 7, ARMENPRESS. The Football Federation of Armenia commented on the circulating news aboutthe futurehead coach of Armenia’s National Football Team.

As reports “Armenpress” citing the official facebook page of the Football Federation of Armenia, in particular the statement runs as follows:

“The news about the new head coach of the Armenian National Football Squad circulating in both the local and foreign media, which publish affirmative titles about different coaches, as if the information is acquired from the competent sources familiar with the Football Federation of Armenia, are nothing more than the results of the imagination, desires, preferences, and dreams of those news agencies or the authors of the articles. As the Chairman of the Football Federation of Armenia Ruben Hayrapetyan noted at the course of the recent press conference, the federation is currently engaged in the relevant activities and negotiations, and the official website of the FFA or the press conference will be the first to inform the public about the new agreement.”

Previously it was reported that the Football Federation of Armenia is currently negotiating with several coaches to invite them to train the Armenian National Football Squad.The Chairman of the Football Federation of Armenia Ruben Hayrapetyan stated this at the course of the press conference held on October 30. In addition Ruben Hayrapetyan noted that he will not tell their names at the present moment, notwithstanding they are negotiating in various directions.

Among other things the Chairman of the Football Federation of Armenia Ruben Hayrapetyan underscored: “I don’t want to mention names. If there is any distinct information, I will publicize it immediately.” The Head Coach of the Armenian National Football Team Vardan Minasyan, who will leave the team on November 1 of the current year, advised to choose an Italian or Spanish coach for the team. Previously, the Armenian national football team players have issued a letter of petition to team manager Vardan Minasyan. In their letter, the footballers asked Minasyan to review his decision and continue heading the squad.

The Football Federation of Armenia informed “Armenpress” that in particular the letter runs as follows: “We certainly respect Vardan Minasyan’s decision, but we would like Vardan Minasyan to forego from it. We have gone along a difficult road with him for four years and we were able to create a united team and make our fans happy. Also, we have gone along a good professional road with him, and we would like to jointly book the spot to the final in the new qualification stage. We await the decision by our head coach.” Earlier, Vardan Minasyan informed that he will not coach the national squad in the new qualification stage. “I prefer another continuation to my [coaching] career. There are several offers, specifically from abroad, and I want to discuss them. I would like to thank Ruben Hayrapetyan, who entrusted me the duties of the national team head coach for the past four years. It is a great honor for every coach to be the manager of a national squad.

I also would like to thank our football fans. I have always felt their support. I am confident that they will always be with our national team, our football. I also would like to thank the media representatives. I have always been honest with them. And most importantly, I want to thank our players. It has been a great pleasure for me to work with them. Together we passed along a road which, I believe, was useful. They have a great potential, they are professionals, and I am confident that they still will climb great heights,” Vardan Minasyan told the Football Federation of Armenia website.
