4 minute read

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 28, ARMENPRESS. Polish writer, author of bestseller book “Loneliness on the Net” Janusz Wiśniewski intends to write a new book dedicated to Armenia, where the prominent intellectual will introduce the Armenian people. Janusz Wiśniewski paid a visit to Armenia for the first time within the framework of “Literary Ark 2013” festival and shared his impressions about Armenia in an interview to “Armenpress” News Agency.

- Mr. Wiśniewski, we are glad that You paid a visit to Armenia. What are Your feelings and impressions about our country?

- I am very glad to be in Armenia. It’s a pity that I’ll stay here only a couple of days. I have already visited Jermuk, Zvartnots, Geghard, and Garni. You have a historical country; it’s an open-air museum. I liked it very much.

- You gave a master class in the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University; You have also met Your fans in “Zangak” Publishing House. How would You assess those meetings and what is Your opinion about the Armenian readers?

- The Armenians are very civilized readers, and they addressed me very interesting questions at the course of the recent meetings. For instance, there was such a big crowd in the Slavonic University that we have decided to hold the meeting in the yard, in an open space, instead of the hall. The topic of the master class was the internet’s impact on the literature.

- I guess You have already noticed that the Armenian people love and appreciate You.

- Frankly speaking I didn’t know that I am so popular in Armenia. I was aware that people read my books in Armenia, as they are published in Russian language as well. I was glad to discover that the Armenians love me. I am very happy that we launch a new project. 2 of my books will be translated into Armenian language and published in here, to make my works available to wider circles. Among them is my new book titled “Grand Hotel”, which is scheduled to be published only in 2014.

- We know that You are considering writing a work on Armenia within the framework of “Literary Ark 2013” festival. Have You already envisaged what story You will create about our country? Have You chosen the topic?

- I’ll write about the people I have met in these incredible places. I’ll tell about the people working in the hotel, waiters, who were glad to welcome me. The Armenians look at the world with the open eyes. I’ll dedicate my work to the local people.

- Will You visit Armenia again?

- Sure, I would love to. (THE FULL VERSION OF THE INTERVIEW IS AVAILABLE IN ARMENIAN)
