Aramayis Grigoryan assigned Ararat Governor

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 10, ARMENPRESS: The Government of the Republic of Armenia appointed Aramayis Grigoryan in the position of the Governor of Ararat region. As reports Armenpress, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan first informed that the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan has already signed the decision on the resignation of Edik Barseghyan and then congratulated Aramayis Grigoryan on the appointment. Applying to the members of the Government, Tigran Sargsyan stated: “You have worked with him and you know him and his abilities well. We wish Aramayis Grigoryan efficient work”.
The former governor of Ararat region Edik Barseghyan submitted his resignation on October 7.
Aramayis Grigoryan was born on October 6, 1965 in the village of Avshar in the Ararat region.Grigoryan received his degree in engineering and technology from St. Petersburg Institute of Light Industry in 1988, in the Russian Federation.From 1985-1987 he served in the Soviet Army. He then spent two years working as a quality engineer in Ararat Knitwear Factory. From 1988-1990 he headed the organizational division of the Vedi Council of Ararat Regional Committee. From 1999-2002 he worked first as a deputy director and then from 2002-2003 as a general director of Avshar Wine Factory.
On May 25, 2003 he was elected to the National Assembly from electoral district # 25. Till June 2, 2006he was a member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on Financial-Credit, Budgetary and Economic Affairs. From June 2, 2006 he isthe Chairman of the National AssemblyStanding Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs.He was not a member of any of the National Assembly factions or deputy groups and he had no political party affiliation.
On June 2 2008 Grigoryan was assigned the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia. On May 12 2009 he resigned from the position.
During the latest parliamentary elections, Aramayis Grigoryan as a candidate was included in the list of Armenian Revolutionary Federation.
Aramayis Grigoryan is married and has three children.
