YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 28, ARMENPRESS. The Armenian community in Kuwait plays a significant role in the expansion of the Armenian-Kuwaiti ties. The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kuwait to the Republic of Armenia Bassam Muhammed Al-Qabandi stated this in an interview to "Armenpress" News Agency.
- How would You assess the current level of the Armenian-Kuwaiti political dialogue?
- We have formed very good relations. The recent visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Edward Nalbandian to Kuwait, the visit of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Armen Gevorgyan, and the visit of the Chairman of the National Assembly of Kuwait to Armenia are to prove this. A governmental committee has been established, which is responsible for the cooperation in the political, economical, healthcare, tourism and other spheres as well.
- Is it considered to organize mutual visits of the higher officials of the two countries?
- We are working in that direction. If God wants it to happen, it will happen. We decide the right place and right time. We are very devoted to the activity of organization of the visits and we are hopeful we shall witness efficient visits.
- What spheres of economy may be attractive for the Kuwaiti businessmen?
- Agriculture, industry, and tourism. There are a number of beautiful touristic sites in Armenia. It’s necessary do develop the infrastructures, and in this respect we encourage investments. Armenia can become a very attractive country for the Kuwaiti people, as it is very close to Kuwait and it takes only two hours to come to Armenia by air.
