President Serzh Sargsyan paid a working visit to Shirak region

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 20, ARMENPRESS: President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on September 20 paid a working visit to Shirak region. “Armenpress” was informed about this from press service of President’s office. The President was present in the musical school in Gyumri, walked around reconstructed educational institution, got acquainted with implemented reconstruction works after which watched the concert in participation with pupils of the school and made a symbolic tree planting in the yard of the school.

The school founded in 1976 which was destroyed during 1988 earthquake was built in 2012-2013. The President of the Republic visited “Aragats” street of Gyumri where to him was introduced implemented reconstruction works. It was reported to the President that the street has not been reconstructed since 1988. Serzh Sargsyan in Vardanants square watched “Art Expo” first international exhibition.

At the end of working visit to Shirak region the President held a consultation in Gyumri municipality about urban development programs, implemented works including housing project held under state support and existing problems. Highlighting that state support to Gyumri city in several directions the President at the same time stressed the importance of active works of local authorities both in implementation of development programs and solution of existing problems. With reports performed head of Shirak region Feliks Tsolakyan, minister of urban development Samvel Tadevosyan, mayor of Gyumri Samvel Balasanyan. At the consultation took part deputies of Armenian NAitonal Assembly from Shirak region, officials from Shirak and Gyumri municipality.The President answered questions of participants, gave corresponding instructions.
