Gyumri prepares for “CIS cultural capital” program events

GYUMRI, AUGUST 31, ARMENPRESS: Autumn in CIS cultural capital will be hot. In framework of “Gyunri – CIS cultural capital 2013” program in September will kick off international sculptural symposium entitled “Life-giving source”, will be held ART-expo in participation of Gyumri, other Armenian cities and CIS members and on September 30 will be held “bread festival. “Armenpress” was informed about this from adviser to head of Shirak municipality Hasmik Kirakosyan, who is also member of “Gyunri – CIS cultural capital 2013” committee. “Gyunri will introduce itself worthy to the title. We can not say that regions are passive. Aragatsotn region has already “come” to Gyumri. We will also visit regions for which we have already been financed. During the year we will have various exhibitions. During bread festival there will be exhibition of different types of bread,” mentioned Hasmik Kirakosyan.

She also added that in events held before took part representatives of different regions. Particularly she separated “Duet” theatrical festival in which Lori region also participated.

In international sculptural symposium will take part 9 nine sculptors, 4 of which were from Gyumri, and the others from Yerevan, Stepanakert, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.

On December 5, 2012 during session of CIS member states leaders’ session Gyumri was declared CIS cultural capital 2013 together with Belarusian Magilov and Azerbaijani Gabala. Gyumri officially assumed its title on June 30.
