YEREVAN, AUGUST 20, ARMENPRESS. The Governor of the Tavush Province Armen Ghularyan hosted the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the United States to the Republic of Armenia John Heffern. The Press Department of the Regional Administration of the Tavush Province informed "Armenpress" that at the course of the August 19 meeting the Governor of the Tavush Province Armen Ghularyan introduced the regional centres of the Province and the possible ways of their development. It was also stated that Dilijan has the direction of its development as the top health resort. It is much more developed in respect of the infrastructures than the rest of the region's cities. The city of Berd has also found the proper direction for its development due to the abundant nature and fertile soil and the Honey and Berries Festival is to prove that. The aforesaid festival was held on August 18 of the current year.
In turn, the U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Armenia John Heffern expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and stated that he spent a wonderful day in Berd and admired the Honey and Berries Festival. Among other things John Heffern underlined that within the scope of its capacity, the U.S. Embassy is willing to support the initiatives aimed at the development of the Tavush Province. During the meeting the interlocutors discussed a row of other issues of mutual interest as well. The Deputy Governor of Tavush Levon Sargsyan, the Mayor of Ijevan Vardan Ghalumyan participated in the meeting along with the heads of different departments of the Regional Administration.
