Republican Party of Armenia to have its candidate at National Assembly by-elections in Syunik

KAPAN, AUGUST 7, ARMENPRESS: On August 7 in Kapan took place Syunik regional council session of Republican Party of Armenia. The main issue of the session was the selection of candidate from the party to take part in National Assembly by-elections in 38th electoral district which includes Kapan and Meghri regions. “Armenpress” reports from Kapan that decision was made to nominate Armen Karapetyan.

Armen Karapetyan was the mayor of Kapan in 2002-2008 and since 2011 has been the adviser to the head of Syunik region. There are not any other candidates yet. The former deputy from 38th electoral district was Vahe Hakobyan from RPA who took the office of head of Syunik region.
