Borussia Dortmund have won the race to sign up ShaktharDonetsk strikerHenrikh Mkhitaryan on a four-year-contract, shutting the door on any hope that Liverpool had of signing him up after agreeing to terms with the Ukranian champions for the Armenian captain.
Dortmund’sCEO Hans-Joachim Watzke and sporting director Michael Zorc negotiated the deal after travelling to Donetsk last week to finish off the deal which will help the German side fill the void left in their squad by Mario Götze’s departure to arch rivals Munich at the end of last season. As reports "Armenpress" citingsportskeeda.com, the deal which is said to be worth €25 million.
The club confirmed this on their website stating: “Borussia Dortmund and the player have reached a general agreement on the financial conditions for a contract ending on 30 June 2017. Details have to be worked out.”
In the three years he played at Donetsk, Mkhitaryan won thedomestic league and cup double each time and scored 25 in 29 games in the Ukranian league last year.
