YEREVAN, JUNE 13, ARMENPRESS: The Armenian delegate of the Eurovision Young Dancers 2013 is currently in active preparatory process. On June 14 the show to be held in Gdansk, Poland, will be opened by the 17-year-old Vahagn Margaryan from Armenia, a debut country this year. The contest will be closed by Felix Berning from Germany. As the Armenpress correspondent was reported by Vahagn Margaryan, the young dancer is in a good mood and spares no effort to present Armenia in a proper way. Vahagn Margaryan has managed to make friends with all the participants of the contest.
After the performances the jury will select two participants to take part in the final. The opening ceremony of the international contest Eurovision Young Dancers 2013 and the reception ceremony of the ten participants were held in Gdansk on June 8.
Vahagn Margaryan will present a solo dance “Deadlock”. The Armenian representative participates in the international contest for the first time and it is a great responsibility for him, as he will represent not only himself, but also the Republic of Armenia. For that reason the soloist from the Royal Swedish Ballet Arsen Mehrabyan was invited to choreograph the dance for Gdansk.
The main reason to invite an international specialist is due to the decision of performing modern ballet dance, as the specialists in Armenia are more concentrated on classical rather than modern ballet.
As informed by the responsible for the Eurovision Young Dancers 2013 of the Armenia's Public TV Gohar Gasparyan, the participants of the contest are quite busy on these days. They not only take part in the rehearsals, but also participate in different kinds of events and contact with the mass media representatives.
Gohar Gasparyan told that like during every Eurovision contest, this time as well the Armenians living in Poland met with them and provided their warm reception.
According to the Contest Charter, the performance of each representative will last one and a half minute. The participants will perform a group dance as well, choreographed by the local specialist. The finalists will pass also improvise round, so that the members of the jury could evaluate their ability to quickly orient and perform in different styles.
Armenia participates in the Eurovision Young Dancers 2013 for the first time. The international authoritative contest was first held in 1985 in Italy. It was organized once in two years.
On June 14 at 22:00 the Eurovision Young Dancers 2013 International Contest will be broadcast live by the Public Television of Armenia. The Contest will be available online as well.
