Prime Minister Pashinyan lauds successful stolen asset recovery system

2 minute read

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has lauded the stolen asset recovery system in Armenia.

In a video shared on social media, the Armenian Prime Minister said that the stolen asset recovery system, known officially as the system of confiscation of illegally obtained assets, has been a success.

“It is highly important to note that this system has been introduced and has been a success,” the prime minister said, adding that the law concerns equally all alleged corruption cases both pre and post 2018. “And this is what values the system, because the return of those illicit assets, under the protection of state and municipal interests, is targeting not a specific timeframe but rather a specific phenomenon.”

PM Pashinyan reiterated that all assets stolen from the state and the people must be returned to the state, i.e. the people.

“And today I’d like to say for the record that this system has been introduced, it is functioning, and I want to congratulate us all, because this has been one of the most important objectives of the 2018 revolution. We have fulfilled what we had promised, and this system will return all assets stolen from the people, one by one,” the PM said.
