YEREVAN, JUNE 10, ARMENPRESS: The running order for the Eurovision Young Dancers 2013 has been decided. On June 14 the show to be held in Gdansk, Poland, will be opened by the 17-year-old Vahagn Margaryan from Armenia, a debut country this year. As reported by Armenpress, quoting the official website of the Eurovision Young Dancers 2013, the contest will be closed by Felix Berning from Germany.

The countries will perform by the following order:

  1. Armenia
  2. Belarus
  3. Netherlands
  4. Sweden
  5. Ukraine
  6. Czech Republic
  7. Poland
  8. Norway
  9. Slovenia
  10. Germany

After the performances the jury will select two participants to take part in the final. The opening ceremony of the international contest Eurovision Young Dancers 2013 was held in Gdansk, Poland on June 8.

Vahagn Margaryan will present a solo dance “Deadlock”. The Armenian representative participates in the international contest for the first time and it is a great responsibility for him, as he will represent not only himself, but also the Republic of Armenia. For that reason the soloist from the Royal Swedish Ballet Arsen Mehrabyan was invited to choreograph the dance for Gdansk.

The main reason to invite an international specialist is due to the decision of performing modern ballet dance, as the specialists in Armenia are more concentrated on classical rather than modern ballet.

ARM TV decided to invite Arsen Mehrabyan who took time from his busy schedule to help Vahagn. Arsen Mehrabyan has participated in various dance contests, winning various prizes for his performances. He won the first prize in the dance contest held in Hamburg in 2003. He was also awarded to “The audience's sympathy” in the “Nagua” contest held in Japan.

Referring to Vahagn, Arsen Mehrabyan mentioned that Vahagn had big potential and he possessed good dancing technique. Vahagn Margaryan was impressed with the dance Arsen helped construct, and promised that he will do his best to win the contest for Armenia.

According to the Contest Charter, the performance of each representative will last one and a half minute. The participants will perform a group dance as well, choreographed by the local specialist. The finalists will pass also improvise round, so that the members of the jury could evaluate their ability to quickly orient and perform in different styles.

Armenia participates in the Eurovision Young Dancers 2013 for the first time. The international authoritative contest was first held in 1985 in Italy. It was organized once in two years.

On June 14 at 22:00 the Eurovision Young Dancers 2013 International Contest will be broadcast live by the Public Television of Armenia. The Contest will be available online as well.
