YEREVAN, DECEMBER 18, ARMENPRESS. Advancing New Year everybody gives account of his future activity in the upcoming year. "Armenpress" introduces its conclusive interview with the Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Hrachya Rostomyan.
- 2012 was Olympic year. What are your assessments of this year’s achievements and omission?
- Despite all the speculations I would characterize our participation in the London 2012 as satisfactory and even very good in particular sports. As per this year’s achievements I would not connect them all with the Olympic Games alone. Let’s recall brilliant victory of our Chess Team in World Chess Olympics. Or the World Title of our young boxer Nikol Harutyunov. These all are noteworthy achievements. I am proud of our athletes.
- What are your plans for 2013?
- First and foremost I am an athlete, and hence I highly appreciate all the achievements of the athletes both in international and local tournaments. Medal, I guess, is not the sole criteria of appreciation of an athlete. 2013 can be a good start for us. Next 2014 can be a good opportunity for successful representation both in international and local championships.
- What are your predictions for the future of the Armenian sport?
- Very good, I predict brilliant future for the Armenian sport. Notwithstanding I should note that Armenian athletes always were famous also for their achievements in team sports. Excellent games of our Chess Team are to prove this. Hence, Armenian sport will not merely preserve the success of previous years, but also will multiply them.(THE FULL VERSION OF THE INTERVIEW IS AVAILABLE IN ARMENIAN)
