Flowers and Delicious Chocolate can Make Happy the First Lady of Armenia on March 8

YEREVAN, MARCH 8, ARMENPRESS: The period between March 8 and April 7 is the best for the Armenian women, as in this period men are more attentive, more often smiles can be seen on their faces. Regardless the position and degree of recognition, all the women are always looking forward for this day. And what feelings does this day bring to the First Lady of Armenia Rita Sargsyan? To find out this, as well as many other issues, related to the Armenian women, Armenpress had an interview with Rita Sargsyan.

Mrs. Sargsyan, how would you characterize the Armenian woman? Which features do you first of all appreciate in her?

Beginning with ancient times, the Armenian woman has been the keeper of the family and traditions; she will always support her husband in any of his undertakings, will bring up children and find warm words for the elders. She will always share the hardships of life with the husband.

There is nothing impossible for her, she can do everything. At the same time, just in a few minutes she can change her image and leave the house like a Princess. This is the feature of our women, which, up to now, surprises everyone and makes one to admire her deeply.

It is believed that the man is the head of the house, and woman is the neck.Is it typical to the image of the Armenian woman?

Maybe this statement is true to some extent, if, as you said, it is believed so. But as for me I like more another saying: man is the bird, and woman is his wings, which can raise him up to heaven or take him to the abyss.

You are the first lady of Armenia. Isn't it difficult to hold this «responsible» position, when you have to serve as an example for everyone?

Frankly speaking, of course, it is difficult. But, let us agree, that I cope well with it (smiling). Anyway, I do not have a goal to serve as an example, but it is always of great pleasure, when you move somebody to kind and useful deeds.

You live an active social life, engaged in benevolent activities in the spheres of art and healthcare. How different is Rita Sargsyan at home and outside?

To my mind, if even there is a difference, it is a small one. I am among those women, who are always sincere and can not, do not like to pretend, even if it is necessary.

The period between March 8 and April 7 is the best for the Armenian women. Are there any different feelings in this period?

Since childhood, I have liked the March 8. April 7 has also become something dear to me. While the rest just bring me pleasant spring feelings. In my opinion, if the holidays are long, they loose their special attractiveness. However, if there are women, who feel better this time, then let those feelings be throughout the year.

Holiday is directly related to presents. What kind of gifts do you like to receive?

As for presents, of course, as every woman, I also like to receive them. I would like to stress that I like to give presents myself. I like flowers and, not making a secret of it, delicious sweets. I also enjoy unusual gifts, and it doesn’t matter, how much they cost.

What would you wish the Armenian woman on this day?

First of all, I wish the arrival of spring after the snowy and lengthy winter. Let our women always, regardless the weather, in any season of the year, be beloved and surrounded with love and warmness of their families. Let there be only tears of happiness, and only stupid soap operas make them angry.
