The daily Haykakan Zhamanak writes according to the Armenian National Statistical Service the life in Armenia has grown 12.9% more expensive as compared with the 2011. The paper says the prices for food products have increased by 21.4%. According to the same information, as compared with the December of the past year the prices increased by 3.6%. It is the highest index in the past seven years. The paper says the prices for vegetables and potato increased by 11% as compared with the January 2011, fruits by 25%, meat by 10%, fish by 3.2%. The paper says in one word life continues becoming more expensive with unprecedented tempo. The paper says it is difficult to even imagine how far the prices can go up. The paper says the most remarkable thing is that the Central Bank officially registers that the growth of prices is not agreed with the people’s purchasing power. The paper says the same CB registers that the price growth is not conditioned byh the impact of the foreign market. It means that there is no inflation in the countries from where the products are being imported, which means that the reason of inflation is domestic problem.
The daily Hraparak writes that after former chairman of Armenia’s National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan and his assistants left, new speaker of the parliament Samvel Nikoyan acquired a new assistant Rafayel Abovyan. The paper says it is not known who he is and in which issues he will assist the parliament speaker, it is just known that he is representative of the Republican Party of Ar,emoa. The paper says yesterday he refused to respond to the question of our journalist and left his own room.
Citing its well-informed sources the daily Zhoghovurd writes that according to one of the scenarios discussed at the ruling circles, after parliamentary elections they will give ANC 15 parliamentary mandates and four portfolios in the cabinet. The paper says of course it is the wish of the authorities which will more probably not become true. The paper says leader of the Social-Democrat Liberal Party Lyudmila Sargsyan said they are not going for trade, but going to get the votes of people. “Not they but the people must decide how many votes we will get. Not the authorities must decide how many mandates or portfolios the ANC will get,” the paper cited her as saying.
