The daily Zhoghovurd writes that a scandal is growing over “Hayastan” supermarket. The paper says it will be handed to “Ameriabank” for bail. The paper writes that few days ago the employees of the bank visited the supermarket and handed writs to the employees, according to which they must either leave the territory by January 24 or sign new contract with the bank for continuing further activity. The paper says the executive director of the supermarket Haykaz Harutyunyan shrugged off the information of the daily, saying that “Hayastan” supermarket is theirs and no one has right to commit encroachments on their property. The paper says it seems a new scandal is growing like in case of “Old Erivan”.
The daily Haykakan Zhamanak writes that former foreign minister Vardan Oskanian may be number two in the proportional list of the Prosperous Armenia Party at the coming parliamentary elections. The paper says this opportunity was not rejected either by the PAP or Oskanyan’s “Civilitas”. The paper says in response to its question, executive director of “Civilitas” Salbi Ghazarian said: “I have heard about it but as far as I know there is no such thing. I will try to find it out”. The paper says by the end of the day Ghazarian did not respond, which is an answer too. The paper says spokesperson for Gagik Tsarukyan said: “All the questions you are asking are either in the phase of discussion or have not been discussed yet.” The spokesperson only said that the PAP leader assigned to present names of two-three candidates from PAP for 41 constituencies. The paper reminds that party headed by Tsarukyan is going to nominate candidacies in majority system in all 41 constituencies.
The daily Zhoghovurd writes after returning to Armenia from Sochi President Serzh Sargsyan will meet with his coalition partner, leader of Prosperous Armenia Party Gagik Tsarukyan. The paper says it has learnt that the meeting will be quite decisive as it will resolve how many mandates the PAP is going to get. The paper says as far as Russia is having significant influence on the Armenian elections a quite interesting coincidence has been noticed: the leaders of the RPA and PAP will meet after having quite interesting meetings in Russia’s capital Moscow. By the way, continues the paper, Gagik Tsarukyan will soon come forth with a statement assuring that the PAP has no relation with Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan.
