The daily Hayots Ashkharh has refereed to the statement of the Union of Armenians of Tbilisi, where a concern is expressed related to the possible loss of distinguished Armenian poet Tumayan’s apartment in Tbilisi. “Still in the 1930s the inheritors of the writer donated Tumanyan’s house to the city, establishing there a library named after the distinguished classical writer.

In 1990s Tbilisi mayor’s office signed a treaty with one of Georgian businessman, according to which he was handed the territory of Tumanyan’s library against petrol supply.

The court case did not give any results, today the territory has been handed to a Georgian oligarch, and repair works are running there. “Geo Turan” Turkish-Georgian joint venture is the only purchaser, which is going to obtain the apartment.

The daily Azg writes that last week Turkish MM circulated information as if Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmed Davutoglu is going to visit Nakhijevan, Azerbaijan. Azg informed earlier that January 17 in Nakhijevan a trilateral meeting with participation of Azerbaijani and Iranian Foreign Ministers was expected.

Yesterday, “Azeripress” agency, citing the own diplomatic sources, spread a statement that the meeting of the Turkish, Iranian, and Azerbaijani Presidents has been postponed. Neither the postponement terms nor the reasons are known.

The previous meeting with such a format was held in 2011 April in Urmia town of Iran.

The daily Orakarg writes that Russian telecommunications providerRostelecom intends to acquire 75% minus 1 share of Armenian telecommunications operatorGNC-Alfa, and possibly also internet service providerUcom, which will provide the Russian company with 13% of the Armenian market of broadband internet access.

Rostelecom might also purchase major ISP Ucom (which ensures 11% of Armenia’s broadband market, has 19,500 subscribers and its revenue in 2011 was forecast at $5.3 million) in the future is not ruled out.

GNC-Alfa owns a 1.5km-long fiber-optic network passing along the Armenia-Iran gas pipeline and is considered the largest independent player in the local market. In 2011, according to preliminary data, its revenue was $12 million.
