Gyumri and Osasko – sister cities

GYUMRI, OCTOBER 24, ARMENPRESS:The delegation of Osasko, Brasilia, has paid a two-day familiarization visit to Gyumri. The delegation members, under the head of Mayor Emidio Pereira de Souza, met with Gyumri Mayor. A cooperation memorandum was signed as a result of the meeting. Head of the Public Relations Department of Mayor's Office Lilit Aghekyan told Armenpress' correspondence in Shirak that according to the memorandum, economic, cultural and sport cooperation is intended.

"The cooperation between the two cities initiated last year, when Gyumri Mayor Vardan Ghukasyan gave a cross-stone to Osasko, which is placed at the center of the city. The first cooperation between the cities will be in the sphere of sports: a football match is intended, which will be followed by new events. In general, there are huge programs," said Mrs. Aghekyan.
