The “chess” – compulsory subject for 2-4th grade pupils

YEREVAN, AUGUST 26, ARMENPRESS: "Chess" new compulsory subject will be added for 2-4th grade pupils beginning from the new school year. Head of General Education Department of Yerevan Mayor's Office Gayane Soghomonyan told a press conference that 2 classes will be provided to the new subject. According to her, all Yerevan schools already have chess teachers.

Gayane Soghomonyan said that the involvement of the subject is conditioned by a number of factors: "First of all it comes from traditional victories in chess and traditions. We have also taken into account that the logic of a chess playing child is wonderful and helps in mastering of natural sciences.
