YEREVAN, MAY 20, ARMENPRESS:

The possibility of the recognition of the Armenian Genocide increases in the Israeli Knesset, according to Kiro Manoyan, head of the ARF Armenian Cause and Political Affairs Office. Today in an interview with Armenpress he commented on the Knesset Education and Culture Committee's claim to discuss the issue of the Armenian Genocide at the parliament.

The issue was presented to the committee by Meretz left-wing party, which was supported by Likud party, the leader of which is Prime Minister Netanyahu.

Kiro Manoyan said he hopes that after such a decision the issue of the Armenian Genocide recognition will get a positive settlement, as "the Knesset's coalition parties were for the issue and confirmed that it is time for the recognition of the Genocide".

Kiro Manoyan says the number of the Israeli society representatives, who are for the recognition, increases and this is mainly connected with the fact that Israel's relations with Turkey are not on a good state.
