ETCHMIADZIN, OCTOBER 25, ARMENPRESS: A gathering on “Let’s Save Monasteries” took place in Rome’s Santa Maria Bambina University October 22 with the participation of representatives of Oriental Orthodox churches. An official from the Holy See press service told Armenpress that at the gathering the participants discussed issues on preservation of churches, monasteries and world cultural monuments, the practical steps for their preservation and restoration.
The gathering decided to set up a coordinating group that will coordinate financial, publishing and monument preservation clearly directed programs.
Armenian St. Apostolic Church was represented by the primate of the Damascus Diocese of the Armenian Church Archbishop Armash Nalbandyan who presented report about the Armenian churches and monasteries.
