Chinese industrial powerhouse open to potential cooperation with Armenia

China's Lanzhou LS Group says it is open to cooperating with countries around the world, including exploring possible avenues for partnership with Armenia, by offering advanced heavy engineering expertise and molten salt energy storage technology.

During a visit by Armenpress to the company's headquarters in Lanzhou, company representatives discussed the company's capabilities and noted that their technology could support the development of renewable energy projects in various markets, possibly including Armenia's growing solar energy sector.

Lanzhou LS Group is a cornerstone of China's heavy machinery industry. Founded in 1953 during China's early industrialization, the company has evolved into a high-tech manufacturing powerhouse.

LS Group manufactures a wide range of critical heavy industrial equipment, including land and offshore oil drilling rigs, high-pressure chemical reactors, hydrogen and nuclear energy components, as well as giant hydraulic forging presses for the metallurgy industry.

The Chinese industrial giant also has an extensive international footprint. Its offshore engineering and energy projects include cooperation with countries across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

The company also provides comprehensive EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) services for its latest innovation: a molten salt energy storage system that integrates advanced heat exchangers with high-temperature storage tanks. The technology is designed to capture, store, and reliably deliver solar thermal energy to the power grid, improving the stability and efficiency of renewable energy generation.

When asked by Armenpress about the prospects for cooperation with Armenia in the field of energy storage, representatives of Lanzhou LS Group said the company is highly interested in collaborating with any interested country.

Asked specifically about solar power technologies in Armenia, they highlighted their molten salt energy storage technology, and invited Armenian officials and industry representatives to visit Lanzhou to explore potential partnership opportunities.

"We are open to cooperation with everyone," an LS Group representative told Armenpress. "We are ready to host Armenian delegations to discuss potential cooperation projects."
