Now there are 4 state-run and 3 private old people’s homes in Armenia which give shelter to 1,200 people. The daily subsistent basket for each person is 2,600 Drams (over $8), of which almost 1000 Drams are for food. The labor and social affairs ministry is also taking care of 1,500 lonely senior citizens at their homes. They get free medical and other assistance.
