The Chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) of Armenia, Mesrop Mesropyan, is leading a delegation to Tbilisi to participate in the 9th World Forum on Energy Regulation (WFER IX).
The PSRC said in a press release that the forum has brought together representatives of energy regulatory authorities from various countries, sector experts and representatives of international organizations.
Discussions are focused on the energy sector’s transition to cleaner and more sustainable energy systems, investments aimed at developing and modernizing electricity grids, the integration of regional energy markets, the protection of consumer rights and interests, as well as overcoming energy poverty.
The agenda also includes the development and regulation of energy storage systems, the application and development of green hydrogen, cybersecurity of energy infrastructure, and the application of innovative technologies in the energy sector.
The forum also pays particular attention to the challenges facing regulators amid the energy transition, promoting new investments and balancing the protection of consumer interests.
WFER is one of the largest international platforms in the field of energy regulation, where representatives of regulatory authorities and sector professionals from different countries discuss global and regional challenges facing the development of the energy sector.
