Science Week 2026 to take place across Armenia on September 22-26

Armenia’s nationwide Science Week 2026 will take place from September 22-26, featuring science experiments, stargazing, games, film screenings and meetings with researchers in Yerevan and other cities.

Organized for the third year by the Gituzh initiative under the slogan “There’s a researcher in each of us,” the program will include activities for children, families, schools, kindergartens and anyone interested in science.

The program will feature science and engineering activity booklets for schools and kindergartens, competitions with prizes, museum events, online games and science podcasts. Screenings of the “Stories of Innovation in Armenia” film series will also be held, while the winners of the “Beyond the Horizon” science-fiction short story competition will be announced.

A new addition this year is “Little Astronaut,” a board game for children aged 4 and above, created jointly by Gituzh and Aylkerp.

Last year, more than 350 schools and kindergartens took part in the initiative’s activities, while the festival attracted more than 35,000 visitors, said Gevorg Safaryan, a Gituzh member and founder of LimeTech and Earlyone.

The Science Week program will also include the “European Researchers’ Night in Armenia” (ERNA) festival, organized by the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia with Gituzh as its main partner. ERNA will open on September 25 at 5 p.m. at the Academy’s campus at 24 Baghramyan Avenue and run through September 26 at 9 p.m.

The sponsors of Science Week are the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia and the National Academy of Sciences.
