Speaker of Parliament Ruben Rubinyan held a meeting on Thursday with Egypt’s Ambassador to Armenia Amal Afifi.
According to a readout from the parliament’s press service, the ambassador congratulated Rubinyan on his election as Speaker and wished him fruitful work.
“During the meeting, the centuries-old friendship between the two peoples, as well as the excellent relations established between Armenia and Egypt over the past decades, were highly valued by both sides,” the readout said.
The sides emphasized the importance of deepening both intergovernmental and interparliamentary cooperation, highlighting the role of parliamentary friendship groups.
They also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
