Cooperation between Gegharkunik administration and GIZ to continue

The cooperation between the Gegharkunik Regional Administration and GIZ, which has been ongoing for several years, will continue in the coming years as well.
The Gegharkunik Regional Administration told Armenpress that Gegharkunik Governor Karen Sargsyan received Sonja Kurz, Country Director of GIZ Armenia, Katrin Buder-Peltz, Head of the Economic Cooperation and Development Department of the Embassy of Germany in Armenia, Susana Martins, a representative of the EU Delegation, and other officials.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to the establishment of wastewater treatment plants in certain settlements and preschool institutions in the region, with the financial support of the German Government and the European Union through GIZ, aimed at improving the ecosystems of Lake Sevan and ensuring sustainable development. They also discussed ensuring access to land plots designated for the construction of the treatment plants and other details related to the program.
Governor Karen Sargsyan highly valued the significance of the programs implemented by GIZ in various settlements of Gegharkunik Province in recent years and assured that he would continue to take coordinated action to contribute to the effective implementation of programs aimed at preserving and restoring the biodiversity of Lake Sevan.
