The annual workshop of the leadership of the Armenian Foreign Ministry’s central apparatus and heads of Armenia’s diplomatic missions abroad is continuing in Gyumri.
According to the Armenian Foreign Ministry, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan emphasised the importance of the message of this year’s ambassadors’ workshop: the Republic of Armenia, including its diplomatic service, is entering a new phase.
Minister Mirzoyan stressed that while the main message of the discussion held in the same format following August 8 last year was the importance of continuously strengthening the established peace, today peace is already a reality.
Ararat Mirzoyan added that under today’s realities, both the challenges and opportunities are different, and the diplomatic service will continue to play a crucial role in addressing the former and making the fullest possible use of the latter, implementing the new mandate received from the people of Armenia to consistently strengthen the country’s independence and resilience.
The discussion also addressed the most severe challenges faced over the past five years and the work carried out jointly in overcoming them.
Turning to new prospects for Armenia’s development and effective integration into the regional connectivity network, Minister Mirzoyan stressed that Armenia today has a historic opportunity and that the Government is making consistent efforts to achieve significant results in this direction.
Minister Mirzoyan answered questions from the heads of the diplomatic service bodies.
The discussion covered both the normalisation and development of relations with neighbouring countries and the deepening of partnerships across a broad geography and diversification of ties, while also highlighting the importance of fully realising the economic component.
Steps aimed at the continued institutionalisation of peace were also discussed.
Views were exchanged on international and regional developments, as well as new priorities for Armenia’s engagement in multilateral platforms.
It should be recalled that the ambassadors’ workshop began on August 28 and is being held in Gyumri. The workshop opened on August 28 with the participation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and President Vahagn Khachaturyan.
