Rescuers were racing to find hundreds of people still missing two days after a catastrophic flash flood struck the Himalayan border between Nepal and China, as the death toll rose Friday and authorities warned that an overflowing lake formed after the disaster could trigger further flooding, AP reported.

The BBC reported that the death toll in Nepal has risen to 475.

Nearly 1,500 people, including almost 800 foreigners, were missing across Nepal and China's Tibet as of August 27, Reuters reported earlier. China has confirmed three deaths in Tibet.
