Moroccan authorities detain dozens of irregular migrants attempting to reach Ceuta

Moroccan security forces on August 15 prevented 111 migrants, most of them from sub-Saharan African countries, from reaching the border of the Spanish city of Ceuta in North Africa.

According to Interfax, Moroccan law enforcement sources told EFE that 61 people were detained on suspicion of encouraging irregular migration.

Earlier, representatives of Morocco’s security forces told EFE that a special operation had been carried out overnight on August 15 in a mountainous area south-west of Ceuta.
