U.S. Vice President JD Vance and his wife, second lady Usha Vance, announced on July 19 the birth of their fourth child.
The baby is the first child born to a sitting U.S. vice president in more than 150 years, according to the Associated Press.
Vance announced the birth on social media, sharing a statement signed by him and his wife.
“We are excited to announce that our baby boy, Alec Neel Vance, was born this morning. Usha and the baby are happy and healthy, and our kids are overjoyed to meet their little brother,” the statement said.
The couple also thanked the doctors and staff at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and the White House Medical Unit.
Alec joins the couple’s three older children: Ewan, 9; Vivek, 6; and Mirabel, 4.
Vance’s wife and children accompanied him during his visit to Armenia in 2026.
