Pashinyan holds meeting with Georgian Minister of Internal Affairs

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Georgian Minister of Internal Affairs Sulkhan Tamazashvili on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister’s Office said in a readout that Pashinyan welcomed the minister’s visit and emphasized the importance of the continued development of cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Armenia and Georgia.

Pashinyan highlighted that there is significant potential for cooperation in bilateral relations and that such mutual visits and active high-level contacts make a substantial contribution to realizing that potential.

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of joint programs between the Interior Ministries of the two countries, particularly in combating crime and illegal drug trafficking, as well as further enhancing the level of internal security.

Georgian Minister of Internal Affairs Sulkhan Tamazashvili said that he had held productive discussions with his Armenian counterparts during his visit, including on the implementation of joint programs. In his view, these initiatives will provide new momentum for strengthening bilateral ties and help the two countries respond more effectively to existing challenges.

The parties exchanged views on issues related to cooperation between the two countries and discussed further steps in various areas.
