The first evacuation flight from Muscat, Oman, landed in Yerevan at 06:15 on March 3, the Civil Aviation Committee told Armenpress.

The flight, operated by FlyOne Armenia, carried passengers who had been stranded in various countries across the region due to the turmoil in the Middle East and the situation around Iran, which brought air travel to a halt because of airspace closures.

Stranded Armenian citizens across the region who wished to return to Yerevan were asked to gather in Muscat, with FlyOne Armenia offering tickets for the special flight.

Multiple flights to and from Middle Eastern countries have been cancelled. Flights to and from Yerevan from the Middle East and Gulf countries have also been affected.

The Civil Aviation Committee did not disclose the number of evacuated citizens.
