Armenia’s Foreign Ministry said there is currently no information about the presence of Armenian citizens among the victims amid recent developments in the Middle East.
In a statement, the ministry said Armenian diplomatic missions and consular offices in Middle Eastern countries continue to operate in a round-the-clock emergency mode, providing necessary assistance to Armenian citizens affected by the cancellation or delay of transit flights.
According to the statement, discussions are underway with relevant airlines, including FlyOne, FlyDubai, Air Arabia and Qatar Airways, to consider possible flight options and organisational support. Talks are also ongoing with partners in relevant countries to facilitate necessary procedures.
A needs assessment has been carried out, and the Armenian Embassy in the United Arab Emirates continues to maintain operational contact with a group of 92 Armenian students studying in the country, as well as with university administrations, providing necessary guidance and assistance.
The ministry noted that some Armenian citizens have also been unable to return to Armenia from countries outside the region due to cancelled transit flights. Armenian diplomatic missions accredited in those countries remain in individual contact with citizens to provide assistance until their return to Armenia.
Armenian embassies and consular offices in Iran and Israel continue their activities, however no large number of requests for assistance have been reported so far.
Through hotline calls received by Armenian embassies and the Foreign Ministry, citizens are being provided with updated information on the current situation, possible developments and available flight options.
At present, the ministry said, there is no information confirming the presence of Armenian citizens among the victims.
