Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, accompanied by Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan, visited the Center for Drug and Medical Technology Expertise to review its activities and conditions, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a readout.

Director of the Center Arayik Baghryan presented the renovation carried out with government funding. In 2024, the government allocated 680 million drams for the renovation of the building and the acquisition of office equipment. In total, about 3,300 square meters of space was renovated and new office equipment was procured.

The Prime Minister also reviewed the improved laboratory services. In 2023, the government allocated 595 million drams for the purchase of laboratory equipment and supplies. The funds were used to acquire about 20 new devices manufactured in 2023 by leading companies, including Agilent Technologies, Anton-Paar and Sartorius, as well as chemically stable laboratory furniture and Armenia’s only positive pressure isolator.

An electronic device management system has also been introduced.

The laboratory currently holds a certificate issued by the American ANAB accreditation body. After the re-equipment, it will have opportunities to participate in national and international research projects, including World Health Organization prequalification programs.
