2026 VAT exemption introduced for electric vehicles in Armenia

The importation into or sale within the territory of the Republic of Armenia of electric vehicles is exempt from value-added tax (VAT) pursuant to the legislative amendments of December 17, 2025, the State Revenue Committee reported.

From January 1 to January 31, 2026, the import or sale in Armenia of electric vehicles under EAEU HS codes 8702 40 000, 8703 80 000, 8704 60 000, and 8711 60 is exempt from VAT. From February 1 to December 31, 2026, the VAT exemption applies only to such vehicles manufactured after December 31, 2023. The law took effect on January 1, 2026.
