Armenia and Azerbaijan explore more trade opportunities, says Pashinyan

The governments of Armenia and Azerbaijan have exchanged a list of potential trade goods, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.

“It is still under study,” the prime minister added.

Pashinyan also commented on the import of a new batch of gasoline from Azerbaijan, noting that when the first batch was imported, Armenian companies that were not expected to create a political issue were informed—a concern that was confirmed when some Armenian companies refused to sell the gasoline imported from Azerbaijan.

“As a result of this process, it will become clear to everyone that this market and opportunity are open to all, and anyone who wants to can take advantage of it,” Pashinyan said.

The first petroleum shipment (over 1,200 tons of gasoline) from Azerbaijan to Armenia arrived in December 2025 via Georgia by rail. Authorities told Armenpress on January 8 that more petroleum shipments are on their way via the same route. Azerbaijani media have reported that 1,000 tons of A92 gasoline, the same amount of diesel fuel, and 1,800 tons of A95 gasoline are planned to be transported.
