Armenian Foreign Ministry Secretary General Davit Karapetyan met in Athens with Ino Afentouli, Executive Director of the Institute of International Relations (IDIS), Greece’s leading university research institute.
Karapetyan and Afentouli exchanged views on prospects for further deepening the Armenia-EU partnership and on the broad agenda of Armenia-Greece bilateral relations, the foreign ministry said in a readout.
The parties also discussed regional and global geopolitical developments of mutual interest. In this context, the Secretary General of the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs briefed Afentouli on the agreements reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington on August 8 of this year, Armenia’s efforts to further institutionalize peace as a result of these agreements, the dynamics of the Armenia-Türkiye normalization process, as well as preparatory work for the European Political Community summit to be held in Yerevan in 2026, the “Yerevan Dialogue” conference, and the 17th meeting of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17).
The discussion also addressed issues related to formats and prospects for further cooperation.
