Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan met with the Deputy Speaker of the Danish Parliament, Karsten Hønge, and members of the Foreign Relations and European Affairs Committees in Copenhagen, the Armenian Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
During the meeting, the parties discussed bilateral relations between Armenia and Denmark, the agenda for strengthening the Armenia-European Union partnership, as well as regional security issues.
Minister Mirzoyan highlighted the growing cooperation between the parliaments of Armenia and Denmark, including within the Armenia-Nordic-Baltic countries (NB8) format.
“Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that the commitment of these countries to democracy, the rule of law, the protection of human rights, and good governance inspires and supports Armenia on its path of democratic reforms, as well as in deepening its partnership with the EU,” the foreign ministry said in a statement.
The Minister recalled the law “On the Launch of the Process of the Republic of Armenia's Accession to the European Union,” adopted by the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia in March 2025, noting that it “primarily reflects the aspirations of the citizens of the Republic of Armenia through a civic initiative.”
Regarding the agreements reached in Washington on August 8, Minister Mirzoyan noted that the unblocking of regional transport routes creates mutual benefits for both the countries of the region and beyond, contributing to the expansion of communication networks from Europe to Asia and vice versa.
Mirzoyan also presented Armenia's approach to the Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Inter-State Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Humanitarian issues were also addressed during the discussion.
The Armenian Foreign Minister answered other questions of interest raised by the Danish parliamentarians.
