Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, as part of his visit to Denmark, visited the Danish Institute for Parties and Democracy (DIPD), where he held a detailed discussion with representatives of Danish civil society, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
According to the ministry, Minister Mirzoyan presented Armenia's foreign policy priorities.
“Armenia is a democracy - young, but strongly committed to the consistent promotion of democratic values and the protection of human rights. We are greatly interested in developing partnerships with like-minded countries,'' Mirzoyan emphasized.
He added that civil society has significant potential and an essential role in both democratic development and peacebuilding.
Minister Mirzoyan highlighted that the agreements reached in the trilateral declaration signed in Washington on August 8, with the involvement of the U.S. President, including the initialing of the Peace Agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, represent an important milestone toward strengthening stability and connectivity in the South Caucasus and the wider region.
"In this context, Mirzoyan presented Armenia's vision for unblocking regional communications, emphasizing the practical importance of the Crossroads of Peace initiative and its component, the Trump Route program,” the ministry said.
The meeting also addressed efforts to resolve humanitarian issues.
Discussions further focused on the dynamically developing partnership and ambitious agenda between Armenia and the European Union, as well as on advancing Armenia-Denmark cooperation at all levels.
The sides exchanged views on strengthening the resilience of democracies, including sharing experiences and tools for countering hybrid threats.
Minister Mirzoyan also answered questions of interest raised by the Danish experts.
