Government to boost relief funding for displaced Karabakh Armenians by 20 billion drams in 2026

The Armenian government will increase relief funding for the forcibly displaced persons of Karabakh by 20 billion drams next year compared to this year, a Cabinet minister told lawmakers on Thursday.

“A total of 55 billion drams will be allocated for social assistance to certain groups as part of efforts to respond to crises and mitigate or eliminate the consequences of emergencies. This is 20 billion drams, or 57.1%, more than last year. This amount represents the budget for programs supporting our compatriots displaced from Karabakh,” said Arsen Torosyan, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, during parliamentary committee hearings on the 2026 state budget.

The budget includes both the housing relief program and ongoing assistance measures.
