Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan lauded the newly established peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Speaking at a joint parliamentary committee hearing on the government’s 2026 budget bill, Pashinyan said that there have been no cross-border shooting-related casualties in the military over the past one year and eight months — which he described as by far the longest peaceful period.
“In the history of our independence, we have never experienced a period of one year and eight months like this,” the Prime Minister said.
He told lawmakers that the Monday hearing marks the first time Armenia’s state budget is being discussed under conditions of established peace.
