Cybercriminals impersonate Central Bank to launch phishing attacks

Scammers have been posing as the Central Bank of Armenia to send phishing emails, the Central Bank warned on Monday.

The phishing emails, sent from addresses such as [email protected], include attached PDF files.

The Central Bank said in a statement that these emails are fake and contain viruses.

It urges recipients not to open the attached files, not to click on any links contained in the emails, and to delete such messages immediately.

“The Central Bank has no connection whatsoever with these emails and never distributes information or documents in this manner or from such email addresses,” the statement reads.

The Central Bank also calls on citizens to remain vigilant and to follow basic cybersecurity rules.
