The Armenian justice minister has reiterated that the ongoing process of constitutional amendments is a purely domestic issue and has nothing to do with foreign factors.
Justice Minister Srbuhi Galyan told reporters that the work on constitutional changes began immediately after Prime Minister Pashinyan took office in 2018. She added that the new text of the constitution must be prepared before the 2026 general elections.
“The work on constitutional changes started right after the 2018 revolution. It’s wrong to associate this process with any foreign factor. This is our domestic issue. Our people will decide whether they want a new constitution or not,” she said.

The Azerbaijani government has falsely claimed that the Armenian constitution contains territorial claims against Azerbaijan, a claim that Armenia has categorically denied.
