The government of Armenia has denied a report published by Periodista Digital which claimed, citing anonymous individuals, that a confidential agreement has been achieved between Armenia, Azerbaijan and the US about the creation of a so-called Trump Bridge transport corridor through Armenian territory.

The Armenian government, in a statement, said that Periodista Digital is a website of suspicious origin and the report is propaganda.

“Some media outlets have been citing a July 22 article presented as news, which is actually a new manifestation of the hybrid war and manipulative propaganda. This fake news has been published by a website of suspicious origin called Periodista Digital, which has numerously been in the focus of criticism on facts of serving as a platform for use by fake persons and distribution of manipulative and unfounded materials. The abovementioned article doesn’t have anything to do with reality. Armenia’s positions regarding the unblocking of regional transport infrastructures are clearly articulated in the Crossroads of Peace project. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has comprehensively addressed this matter during the press conference on July 16 this year. Additional clarifications were voiced by the Prime Minister’s spokesperson Nazeli Baghdasaryan in the July 21 interview with Armenpress. Any information contradicting the substance of the abovementioned cannot be true. We call upon the media and public circles to refrain from distributing such disinformation and use exclusively official and reliable sources,” the government’s press service said in a statement.
